Winter is comming

Last Wednesday we had the first snow here!! :D It means that we have to have an extra eye on the animals water, so it doesn’t freeze and otherwise put on an extra layer of cloth as the minus degrees has begun :D

Last week we also took the small calfs, Dean and Honey, out on a field for the first time. Here they had to learn what an electric fens means (For the first time), so that we are sure that they wan’t try to break out.

Concrete and haircutting

During this week, we got the concrete for next years projects; a wall, surrounding all the horse - and cow shit which is produces in the stable. A fundament for a horse shed for taking care of the horses and a cellar for storing turnips.

It all went perfectly well, so now there is only to wait until the concrete is dried and hard, so we can begin with the next step.

Also, we had a visit by the sheep-haircutter. A sheep need to have their wool cut of at least twice a year, and now it was time for our sheep to get rid of their summer wool, to make room for the winterwool. It took about an hour and a half and then all the sheep was ready for the next wool to come.

In the coming time, we are planning to prepare some of the wool for winter glowes, hats and socks :)

Preparing for next year

We have started to prepare a bit for next year. During the last week, we have been raking leaves from the hills. This we do, so that there will be light enough for all the flowers coming next year. Also we use the leaves to cover our beds for winter, so that no weeds can take over.

This is kind of hard work and therefor a break can be required. Here Carlos and Vera are taking a nap in the leaves :)

And here Adam is joining and suddenly the nap turned in to a smaller fight :)

Otherwise, we still enjoy a fantastic weather and a wonderful autumn!! :)

November is here :)

November is here and that means that it is time for the horses to come in, in the morning to be pampered. Here it is Frej that gets a full pedicure :)

Also the rabbit Gabriella has brought a little november suprise. During the weekend we found out that she has given birth to 7 small adorable rabbit kiddens!! :D

Well done mommy!
