Weeks 39 and 40

Summer has ended now – all leaves start to turn yellow, orange, red and brown these days. The mornings full of fog were great to see beautiful sunrises. That was perfect to continue with the harvesting: the carrots and potatoes, coal roots, beans and parsnips, sugar roots and pears. All the harvesting is done now for this year!  Beside this kind of work, some of us put up rain gutters on most of the roofs, and also fixed some new boards. Bengt and a few wwoofers were busy with slaughtering and treating the meat.

Five weeks ago, Ida (the cat) gave birth to her kittens, and we finally found three of them up in the hay. Everyone loves to spend time with these cute, fleecy and heart-breaking sounding cats! Now we even found 4 more kittens in the end of the week!

The kitchen teams did a great job the whole time, especially the self-made kanelbullar we had on kanelbullens dag were great. In the end of the week, we had a little goodbye-party and birthday-party, because most of the ‘old’ wwoofers leave this weekend. But there are already new ones coming to stay for the winter.
